Terms of Service

By using Kanora you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language.

What Kanora is

Kanora is a study aid that helps you find, understand and organise academic research. It is provided free of charge during early access, as is, without guarantees of availability or accuracy.

Academic integrity

You are responsible for your own work. Kanora is designed to support your thinking, not to produce work for you to submit as your own.

Follow your institution's rules on study tools. Always read original sources and verify quotes, summaries and citations before relying on them.

Accuracy

Search results come from third-party databases and may contain errors or omissions. Labels such as open access, preprint and detected research methods are generated automatically and may be wrong.

Essay Grader scores are automated guidance, not an instructor's grade.

Your account

Keep your login details private; you're responsible for activity on your account. You must accept these terms before using an account.

The Free plan includes a limited number of searches per calendar month. Searches you've already run that month can be reopened without using another.

Acceptable use

Don't use Kanora to break the law, overload the service with automated requests, share accounts, or interfere with other users.

Intellectual property

Articles belong to their authors and publishers. Kanora links to them; it does not grant you any rights to them. Your own writing remains yours.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Kanora is not liable for losses arising from use of the service, including lost data stored in your browser.

Ending your account

You can stop using Kanora at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Changes

These terms may change as Kanora grows (for example, if paid plans launch). Continued use after changes means you accept them.
